Frequently asked questions
How Close Is the Facility to Concord Park Place?
Our courts are a short drive or transit ride west along Sheppard Avenue from Concord Park Place. Bessarion Station on the Line 4 subway is nearby, and families from the Leslie Street and Sheppard Avenue area typically reach us in under 10 minutes. Players from Hillcrest Village and surrounding neighbourhoods also find access straightforward.
What Does Summer Camp Include?
Our summer camp includes daily structured tennis coaching, off-court games, fitness activities, and supervised break times across up to 11 weeks. Full-day and half-day formats are available with extended care before and after hours. The programme keeps children active, engaged, and developing their tennis throughout the summer months.
Are Lessons Suitable for All Levels?
Yes, we welcome players at every level. Beginners start with a 6:1 ratio and foundational instruction, while advanced players work in 4:1 groups focused on tactical play and match preparation. Families from Don Valley Village and the wider Sheppard corridor find this grouping approach effective for steady progress.
What Spring Programmes Are Offered?
Our junior spring programme is an 8-week session with 2 to 3 days of training per week. It focuses on building core technique, footwork, and early match-play awareness. Families near Concord Park Place and Bessarion use it as a lead-in to the summer camp season ahead.
Can I Book Private Coaching Sessions?
Private and semi-private tennis lessons are available 7 days a week for juniors and adults. These sessions are fully customised to your goals — whether you want to improve a specific stroke, work on fitness and movement, or prepare for upcoming competitive play.
What Qualifications Do the Coaches Have?
Every coach on our team holds OTA certification or equivalent professional credentials. Head Coach Peter Nielsen brings over 40 years of coaching experience as a former National Champion and Tennis Canada National Coach. The rest of the team combines national titles, international playing experience, and a genuine commitment to helping each player improve.
Is There a Fall Programme After Summer?
Our fall junior programme picks up where summer camp ends, running for 6 weeks with 2 to 3 sessions per week. It focuses on refining technique and building tactical awareness ahead of the indoor season. Concord Park Place families find it an effective way to extend their child’s training through the autumn months.
Do You Accept Children as Young as Four?
Yes, our youngest players start at age 4 using modified racquets, softer balls, and smaller court setups designed for early development. Coaches make sessions playful and confidence-building so young children enjoy every moment. Families near Pleasant View and Leslie Station also enrol their youngest children with us.
Is Membership Needed to Participate?
A membership is required before joining any programme at our facility. Junior and lessons-only adult memberships are available for the current season, providing access to the club grounds and the full range of seasonal programmes. Visit the website for membership details, or call 905-889-7293 for guidance.

What Our Students Say
“I’d like to share how much I enjoyed my lessons with Coach Ahmed during summer 2025. He is one of the kindest, most attentive, caring, and humorous coaches I’ve met in my tennis journey. He consistently followed well-planned lessons while remaining flexible to meet students’ individual needs. He was also very accommodating in arranging makeup lessons when we had to miss sessions during the summer. Overall, I highly recommend Ahmed to players of any level. He made my experience at Bayview Village Tennis Club far more engaging and enjoyable and I can’t wait to go back to his class this summer again.”
