JUNior spring program
Spring Tennis Program for Kids and Teens in Bayview Village
Our junior spring tennis program gives children aged 4 to 18 in Bayview Village and North York a structured after-school pathway to develop their game before the summer season begins. Running for 8 weeks with sessions 1 to 3 days per week, this program is built for young players at every stage, from kids picking up a racquet for the first time to advanced juniors preparing for tournament competition. Coaches follow the development system that Director Peter Nielsen has refined across four decades of youth tennis coaching in North York, covering stroke mechanics, footwork fundamentals, rally consistency, and tactical awareness in a progressive format that builds real skill week after week.
Beginner and intermediate players train on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with a 6:1 student-to-coach ratio, while advanced and top-performance juniors train on Tuesday and Thursday with a tighter 4:1 ratio. Every session runs from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on our six outdoor courts at 30 Elkhorn Dr, making it a practical after-school option for families near Bayview Avenue, Sheppard Avenue, Elkhorn Public School, and the wider Bayview Village neighbourhood. Kids tennis lessons in this format allow young players to build rhythm and repetition across the 8 weeks rather than relying on one-off sessions that rarely produce lasting improvement.
Our OTA certified coaching team assesses each child at the start of the program and places them in a group matched to their age and ability. This means your child trains alongside peers at a similar level, receiving instruction that challenges them without overwhelming them. As players improve, coaches adjust drills, introduce match-play scenarios, and develop tactical thinking so juniors are ready to step into our summer tennis camp for kids with confidence and a solid technical foundation. Families from Willowdale, Don Mills, Henry Farm, and the M2K postal area trust this seasonal progression to keep their children developing year-round.
The spring program also serves as a strong complement to one-on-one tennis coaching for juniors for players who want accelerated development in specific areas of their game. Pricing scales with frequency, so you choose the training intensity that fits your child’s goals and your family’s schedule. With flexible day selection, certified professional instruction, and a safe supervised environment on every court, our Bayview Village spring tennis training gives North York families a proven starting point for their child’s tennis journey. Call our coaching team at 905-889-7293 or email info@bayviewvillagetenniscamp.com to discuss which group and schedule works best for your child.

What Our Students Say
“My daughter has received private lessons from Victor at Bayview Village Tennis Camp for the last 2 summers. She has enjoyed learning from Victor due to his patience, challenging exercises, and a great balance of challenge and praise.
In addition to training my daughter, my 2 friends and I took lessons from Victor as well. It was my first year playing after over 25 years of inactivity. I am glad that I took these lessons with Victor as he was able to help update my technique and give me the confidence I needed.”

Frequently asked questions
What Ages Can Join the Spring Tennis Program?
Children from age 4 through 18 are welcome. Coaches group juniors by age and ability so younger beginners train separately from advanced players. Each group uses equipment suited to their stage, keeping kids tennis training in Bayview Village effective and fun.
How Is the Beginner Group Different from Advanced?
Beginners train Monday, Wednesday, Friday at a 6:1 ratio focusing on foundational strokes. Advanced juniors train Tuesday and Thursday at 4:1 with tactical match play and competitive drills. This split ensures every child in our North York youth tennis programme trains at the right level.
What Skills Will My Child Develop in 8 Weeks?
Players develop forehand, backhand, serve mechanics, footwork, and rally consistency over the 8 weeks. Coaches introduce match-play tactics progressively as confidence builds. Families near the Willowdale area see visible skill gains by the halfway mark.
Does the Spring Session Prepare Kids for Summer Camp?
Yes, the spring session feeds directly into our junior summer tennis camp. Eight weeks of stroke and fitness development mean kids enter summer with stronger technique, better court awareness, and readiness for full-day camp sessions.
What Time Do After-School Sessions Run?
Sessions run 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, ideal for after-school schedules. Families near Elkhorn Public School and the Henry Farm neighbourhood find pickup and drop-off practical. Each session is 2 hours of structured tennis with certified North York coaches.
Can My Child Attend Just One Day Per Week?
Yes. Choose 1, 2, or 3 days per week and pricing scales accordingly. No pressure to commit beyond what suits your child’s goals. Many North York families start with a single day and increase frequency as their child’s enthusiasm for spring junior tennis grows.
Is a Membership Required Before Joining?
Yes, a junior membership covering ages 4 to 18 is required for the season. It provides access to the club grounds and all Bayview Village tennis programmes. Visit the membership details page for current pricing and options.
What Qualifications Do the Spring Coaches Have?
All coaches hold OTA certification. Director Peter Nielsen is a National Senior Champion and former Tennis Canada coach. The team brings national titles, international rankings, and deep experience in youth tennis development across Bayview Village.
How Do You Keep Young Children Engaged?
Coaches use fun-based drills, modified equipment, and age-appropriate games to hold attention for children aged 4 to 7. The focus is on coordination and enjoyment so kids build a love for tennis that carries into fall training and beyond.
How Do I Find the Right Group for My Child?
Call 905-889-7293 or send us a message through our website with your child’s age, experience, and goals. Our coaches will recommend the right group, day selection, and frequency for their spring tennis season in North York.
