Frequently asked questions
How Do I Reach Your Facility from Bridle Path?
Head north along Bayview Avenue from the Lawrence Avenue East area, past Sunnybrook Park and Edwards Gardens, toward Sheppard Avenue. Our facility at 30 Elkhorn Dr is near the Bayview Avenue and Sheppard intersection. The drive takes about 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic, and families from York Mills often travel the same route.
What Junior Programmes Are Available?
We offer a spring programme (8 weeks), a summer camp running up to 11 weeks, and a fall programme (6 weeks). Each season builds on the previous one, giving juniors a continuous development pathway. The summer camp includes full-day and half-day options with extended care for working families.
Can Adults Join Without Prior Experience?
Our adult group lessons welcome complete beginners alongside intermediate players. Coaches group adults by skill level and tailor drills to each group’s ability. You will not be placed with advanced players before you are ready, ensuring a comfortable and productive learning environment.
What Certifications Do Your Coaches Hold?
Our coaching team holds OTA certification and professional playing credentials. Director Peter Nielsen is a former National Champion with over 40 years of experience. Families near St. Andrew-Windfields and the Bridle Path area value this depth of expertise and the results-driven instruction it delivers.
Is One-on-One Coaching Available?
Private and semi-private tennis lessons are offered 7 days a week for both juniors and adults. Each session is fully tailored to your individual goals, whether that means working on serve technique, net play, or competitive match strategy. Semi-private sessions for pairs who want to train together are also available.
How Are Younger Children Introduced to Tennis?
Children as young as 4 begin with modified racquets, lower nets, and smaller court dimensions designed for their size and coordination level. Coaches focus on making tennis fun and accessible, building coordination and basic skills through games and structured play. Families near Banbury-Don Mills also enrol their youngest children with us.
What Does the Fall Programme Focus On?
The fall junior programme runs for 6 weeks, focusing on skill consolidation after the summer. Players work on technique refinement, tactical awareness, and mental preparation for indoor season play. It provides a focused bridge between summer training and winter so progress does not stall.
Is Membership Required to Participate?
Yes, all participants need an active membership before joining any programme. Junior and lessons-only adult memberships are available for the current season, giving members access to the club grounds and our full range of seasonal offerings. Check the website or call 905-889-7293 for details on current membership options.
What Local Parks Are Near Your Courts?
Our facility is surrounded by some of North York’s best green spaces. The East Don Parklands wind through Bayview Village, and Bayview Village Park offers additional recreational space nearby. Bridle Path residents are also close to Sunnybrook Park, Edwards Gardens, and Wilket Creek Park along the southern stretch of Bayview Avenue.

Testimonial
What Our Students Say
“I’d like to share how much I enjoyed my lessons with Coach Ahmed during summer 2025. He is one of the kindest, most attentive, caring, and humorous coaches I’ve met in my tennis journey. He consistently followed well-planned lessons while remaining flexible to meet students’ individual needs. He was also very accommodating in arranging makeup lessons when we had to miss sessions during the summer. Overall, I highly recommend Ahmed to players of any level. He made my experience at Bayview Village Tennis Club far more engaging and enjoyable and I can’t wait to go back to his class this summer again.”
